Just Use Windows Add/Remove Programs. Then install Mozilla Firefox.
yeah...good luck with that bud.
go on control panel and click on add or remove programs. then add/remove windows components and a list will pop up check off ie6
I did that once and it kind of destroyed my computer.

Needless to say I don't have Windows anymore.

I would either upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 (that may work) or get Firefox. To uninstall, if it is NOT in the Add/Remove programs section, you probably shouldn't uninstall it. If you don't want to look at it's dreadish icon drag it into the trash. Otherwise, as a heads up, just be careful.
mozilla firefox is the best!

http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/

-right click on IE icon, on desktop.

-click Add/Remove Programs

-find IE and delete it from list

-go into start-up and delete icon from list

-delete icon off of desktop

:]

all done!

good luck.
go to control panel add / remove program then click on add / remove window component after dialog appeared uncheck the Internet Explorer list menu.if you are using Microsoft Operating System
dont it can screw up windows
You can roll back IE 7 to version 6 - BUT you can not roll back or uninstall IE 6 or you are asking for trouble. IE6 is tied in with other programs and services.

I agree with some other answers - use Firefox or Opera.
you can't. people will tell you you can remove it in add/remove programs, but it isn't actually removed. this just removes the shortcuts and icons. it is still there in all it's suckiness. it is integrated with the kernal because it was easier that way. actually ther is a way: uninstall windows. that's the only way. if you want to see what windows is like without ie go to the task manager, find explorer.exe and end process. if it works I think your desktop, start menu, taskbar, icons, finder... they all go away.
The only "true way to remove it is to first download or make sure you have another browser, whether it be Firefox, Netscape, whatever, cause once you uninstall IE6 you won't be able to connect to GET the browser you want. seems like a dumb statement, but people do it all the time. Next, as already suggested, use add/remove programs to uninstall. this will still leave some residual files, so I would recommend a registry cleaner, like this one: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fi...

(it's free) to get rid of those registry entries that still may want to involve IE6 on your computer. Remember to have system restore turned on in your computer, then you can reverse any "accidents" you may have along the way.
It is an integrated part of the operating system and cannot be removed.

Most problems with viewing videos are caused by firewall and virus scan software. There are settings for both where you can put selected web sites(like utube) on the safe, or excluded from being scanned lists. Try disabling your virus scan to test.

In Internet explorer, go to tools, Internet options and on the privacy tab, use the advanced tab and set cookie handling to accept first party, block 3rd party and check allow session cookies. Then click the websites button to see a list of blocked or accepted sites,

If you have IE SP1, go to add/remove programs. It will be listed as IE SP1, click the remove button and select repair, NOT original configuration, it didn't come with SP1 and several other security fixes. They would have to be downloaded again, pain in the a__.

Hope these tips help you, IE 6 is actually more secure now than Firefox is, and IE7 is still to buggy for me.
I can watch just about anything including YouTube videos on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera.

You can easily install Firefox, Opera or another browser and set it up to be the default browser without having to uninstall Internet Explorer.

You can not remove Internet Explorer completely without damaging Windows to the point Windows would need to be reinstalled. In addition Internet Explorer is needed to perform Windows updates.

Might I suggest you have someone who knows what they are doing take a look at your computer. No person with any experience would try to do what you are suggesting.

Now to enable Java:

Internet Explorer:

Internet Options%26gt;Advanced Tab%26gt; Scroll down to Java

Make sure "Use Java X.XXX for ..." box is checked

Firefox:

Tools %26gt; Options %26gt; Content %26gt; Check all four boxes

Current JAVA version is 6 Update2. Update Java or download at

for Firefox

In add/remove programs remove all but the latest version of Java. Old versions are a security risk. Then Go to Program Files\Java remove directories of older versions. (jre1.5.0_08, jre1.5.0_09, etc.)

Check to make sure you are not running Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft Java, no longer supported and should be removed).

"If you are having problems with Internet Explorer 7 hanging, crashing, silently closing or other bizarre behavior, an incompatible toolbar or other add-on maybe involved. The fastest way to determine if an add-on is causing the problem is to run Internet Explorer 7 with no add-ons. You can do this by going to Start, clicking All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and click Internet Explorer (No add-ons). This disables all add-ons from loading in that instance of Internet Explorer. If the problem goes away, you can manually disable all the add-ons and then enable add-ons one at a time to find the specific one causing the problem. Below are instructions on how to manually disable a specific toolbar and a list of known incompatible toolbars that can cause serious issues with Internet Explorer 7" per

If you can, in Internet Explorer open Microsoft Live OneCare and run a "full scan"

Safety Scan for Windows Vista

A last resort would be to uninstall IE7 from ad/remove programs.

Reverts back to an version IE6.

Run a Microsoft Live OneCare, "full scan" and restart before reinstalling IE7.

You can not uninstall IE7 on systems running Vista without reinstalling Vista.
