Are there compatable seats (ie. other years) for a 1977 Suzuki GS550e?

I have recently purchased a 1977 Suzuki GS550(e I beleive) and the seat pan is rusted out so I need to replace it. Do I have to find another exactly the same, or will the seats from other years ('78, '79?) fit?

I've swapped E, T and G model seats. across years.

However? to be exactly sure, you should test fit, (maybe a visit to a local salvage yard?)

as some seats are close, but there was one or two tabs different.

Have you considered just buying an aftermarket seat, from someone like Mustang or Corbin?

Or you could order just the seat pan, for your exact bike, off Partsfish.com. (or the suzuki shop, for that matter)

1977 - 1979 are the same, you can swap between any of the extentions (E, L, T, ect). good luck finding one, Ebay is probibly you best bet next to the local motorcycle salvage yard. If you can find a good pan, the cover and foam are availabe from a company called parts fixation out of Pa.
