Can a stomach virus (ie. due to food poisoning) cause misscarriage or harm fetus?

Has this ever happened to you, and what was the outcome?

yes it can.....I was about 32 weeks pregnant with my daughter when my son was hospitalized due to a bad asthma attack....somehow I had picked up a bad virus and ended up hospitalized for a week myself. I was put into isolation, given a needle to stop the vomiting, and put onto a drip for a couple of days. I lost 6 kgs in overnight. The doctors were going to do a casearian if my condition didnt improve, though thankfully it did. I could see much concern for my unborn baby s welfare, though luckily other than a little under weight she suffered no lasting effects.

If it's from listeria, yes, the baby can be harmed.

I had salmonella poisoning while pregnant with my first...I was sick as a dog, but baby was just fine.
yes
Listeria, from lunch meat, can cause spontaneous abortions.
